To make great sushi you must be willing to challenge yourself and explore the many new textures and flavors that lie out there, going beyond the boundries of the familiar. That is exactly what Kenny & Shirli Chan have brought to the tables of their restaurant Sushi Hana Japanese Fusion which opened in December 2011. A fresh new concept in fine New York Sushi cuisine, Sushi Hana is a departure from the familiar norm with a unique perspective on how food should be prepared.

 

 

 

 

Traveling numerous times to Japan to capture the culture and art of making sushi combined with his over 30 years of restaurant experience, Kenny Chan has fine tuned his skills and has developed a fusion of flavor, texture and art that is present in every creative dish prepared at Sushi Hana. At Sushi Hana you will find more than just sushi. They also make a wide variety of fine Asian entrees such as Crispy Duck in Tamarind Sauce, Yaki Udon, NYC Style Maifun to the familiar Spring Rolls and Chicken Teriyaki. With Kenny's creative flair for Asian cooking he is always coming up with new takes on a familiar favorite or is in the back kitchen mixing a new batch of sauce he came up with. One thing is for sure, when you come to Sushi Hana Japanese Fusion you will always find something new, delicious and fresh that you more than likely will not find anywhere else.

 

 

 

OUR CHEFS

 

Every roll and entree at Sushi Hana is inspired by Kenny and creatively prepared by one of our Master Chefs. Each one of them brings to the table a different flavor and presentation. In Kenny Chan's pursuit of excellence his Master Chefs Aaron, Andy and Tony have spent 8 to 9 years in New York City studying and training to become Sushi Masters. Over the years Kenny and his crew have been friends and have worked for each other essentially becoming a family. When you visit Sushi Hana you truly get a sense of that ethnic cultural appeal that attracts many patrons who have traveled around the world and are looking for a taste of the world at home.

 

 

 

OUR STYLE

 

Over the past several years sushi's popularity among Americans has grown tremendously. So much so that Americans have come up with their very own sushi rolls, such as the California and Philadelphia Roll not to mention many others. However, one of the unfortunate results of the popularity of sushi among Americans is that it has become known more for what it is not, instead of what it should be about. Every Sushi Hana roll is masterfully created so that you taste the fresh ingredients. Our focus is less on fillers and more on flavor.
